This Particular Weekend
Having grown up in South Florida – it’s easy to get to the Keys for a quick get away! This particular weekend, our trip was for a family birthday party at a home on Duck Key. Lime Tree Bay is a family favorite – having been coming here since the 70s. Upgrades galore! The beach area is really clean as is the pool and of course the rooms can’t be beat! Each morning in the lobby, there is a continental breakfast with Nespresso or Regular coffee. YUM! We sat outside of our room each day and night to enjoy the views, the peace and quiet and the privacy…. Ahhhh – what a great little gem of a place!

Most Awesome Time
My son treated me to a most awesome time at Lime Tree Bay Resort. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated. The large glass doors opened to a most beautiful view of palm trees and the water. We enjoyed the very comfortable rockers as we sat outside watching folks enjoy the dock and beautifully decorated beach area. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would call this a “Hidden Gem”. I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for such precious memories Lime Tree Staff.

Lime Tree was the best
I vacationed four nights in the Florida Keys and by far Lime Tree was the best. We stayed there the last night and I wish we had found Lime Tree the first night. The staff tries really hard to make your stay perfect. The grounds are beautiful with a Gulf view from every room. Sunset was perfect from the Gulf- water-warm and clear. Great for snorkeling. They even have kayaks you can check out to explore.

Amazing New Year!
Thank you so much for the amazing time we had for New Year’s! It was absolutely perfect and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The remodeled rooms look incredible and I can’t wait to come back for Easter. It’s so relaxing over there, I am not ready for the hustle & bustle that awaits me on Monday! Thank you once again, everything was wonderful.

Really Wonderful Time.Really Relaxing
We stayed at Lime Tree Bay in November and we had a really wonderful time. This place is not fancy, but it is clean, priced right, has a great pool and the staff is really friendly. We enjoyed breakfast at Little Italy and we took off driving every day to the different areas of the Keys. It is a very relaxed place, but then again, the Keys is supposed to be relaxed! I don’t know what else to say other than the fact that we would stay here again and I have recommended it to friends. I will post pictures when I get them out of my camera, the place is really relaxing & low-key, which is what I wanted.
Great little unspoiled patch of paradise
Great place to relax, sunning by the pool or on the beach, spent many an evening soaking in the hot tub, and if sunsets are your thing… there is no better view in the Florida keys. The management was very accommodating with amenities and very knowledgeable about the area. If you are planning a relaxing vacation lime tree is the place. I stress relaxing because Long Key is a quiet small key. No nightclubs, strip malls or even grocery stores. Don’t panic though these are only minutes away if you seek them. I think if Jimmy Buffett visited, he would be proud!!!
Loved the place
We spent 2 days here and loved the place. Super clean rooms and nice grounds. The pool was top notch and the view was awesome. The gulf was not in good condition when we stayed but nothing you can do about mother nature. They did claim to have internet but that was not the case. There is really nothing around it, except for an Italian restaurant that was over priced and not very good. But the rooms and the view were worth the money. I would recommend to others to stay here but plan to drive to get to anything to do or eat. But in the Keys that is pretty normal.
Lovely Experience very private
My husband and I along with our adult children stayed at the Zane Gray Inn townhouses across the road from the main resort-and had a lovely experience. The townhouse was very roomy-with 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths-all with plenty of privacy. The balconies and back deck were an added plus, and each unit had their own gas grill-which we used several times. The pool in the townhouse complex was heated and very convenient. We would definitely stay here again-if we come back to the Keys!
Loved every minute of it
We spent two nights and loved every minute of it. The room was very clean and the management went out of their way to make sure your stay was memorable.
Stopped over on way to Key West, room was clean and presentable. Night was very quiet with no noise from neighbors. Pool was a welcome break from the heat and driving. Facilities around the bay were plentiful, Would hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and will use it again next time I’m in the area.
Wonderful place at a great value
If you are looking for a wonderplace at a great value, this is it. The rooms were well appointed, clean, and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful at all hours. Sunsets are spectacular, and the Little Italy restaurant on property has some of the best food around, at very reasonable prices. We loved the beach area and the ability to kyaak and snorkel right off the shore. Make sure you do your food shopping before you arrive as the decent grocery are a twenty minute drive away. We will definitely stay here again!
The perfect old Florida Keys Resort!
Lime Tree was the perfect spot to spend the second half of our Keys Vacation. The area was the perfect from from the previous 3 nights in Key West. If you like fishing, kayaking, snorkeling and boating this is the perfect place in the middle keys. It is a little bit of a drive to restaurants but well worth the location you get to stay in. The perfect Old Florida keys resort.
Enjoyed the quiet and seclusion
I recently stayed at the Lime Tree Bay in the Zane Grey Townhomes across the street. The townhomes were lovely! Three floors, three bedrooms, three bathrooms. Balconies off almost everyroom. The master suite had a lovely deck overlooking the canal below. The kitchen was small but modern and exactly what we needed. There is a washer/dryer and detergent is provided. The pool on the Zane Grey side is small but clean and very convenient – just out our backdoor. The pool across the street at Lime Tree Bay is a nice deck that looks out over miles of ocean. It was perfect! We enjoyed very comfortable lounge chairs. The pool towels provided were a little beat up but nothing to be upset over. I cannot speak for the motel rooms but the Zane Grey Townhomes were very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly and welcoming!
The only downside I can say is that the location is remote. I enjoyed the quiet and seclusion, however, it is a 20 minute ride to the nearest grocery store or any nightlife.
I would definitely recommend the Lime Tree Bay to anyone! Certainly plan to stay there again!!
Annual destination tradition!
What started out way back in 1990 as a “I can’t drive no more, shouldn’t of been driving anyways” trip back from Key West, with my then girlfriend and now my wife Lori, has turned into a annual destination we have made room for in our schedules every year since including our Honeymoon in 1995. Our family has grown since that first visit w/ twin boys who even at the age of 9, love coming to Lime Tree Bay Resort, they fish off the dock, chase and sometimes catch small lizards, swim, hot tub, meet new friends from all over, exploring the shallow gulf shore seeing things they would never see at home like, small Squids, Tarpons, Dolphins, Eels, Lobsters, Rays, live Shrimp, Star fish and many more interesting tropical fishes that flourish here. Contrary too previous reviews I have seen posted here, the Bay that crests this resort is sparkling clear, calm and clean, the Sea grass that accumulates along the shore does sometimes give off a sulfur like smell while it breaks down, but it is not all over the complex as stated, trust me, it won’t bother you within minutes of seeing the true beauty of this place, besides your too busy enjoying cookouts (park style BBQ grills) reading and thatch huts, snorkeling in the shimmering warm Bay waters and being amazed at what you see in the water, meeting new friends and sharing some of the most amazingly beautiful, colorful sunsets in the Keys every night. As far as accommodations, Lime Tree offers small inexpensive older motel rooms, which are small but clean, too very new Town Houses across the street as well as the New Suite addition above the old motel, pick the cheapest or the most expensive, everything described above is included. George Ernest was our savor way back in 1990 when he crawled out of bed at 2 am and gave two very tipsy kids a room for the night, which we still thank him for, I’m sure he never gave it a second thought at the time, but boy did he do us a favor for years too come. George his wife Louise, Bernice and the rest of the staff have always been very helpful in any way possible and all though rare, if something wasn’t right, it was corrected when asked. I have included a few pictures I hope you can enjoy and find helpful, As for the the beautiful Florida Keys, expect everything too be laid back, no one rushes for anything or anyone in the Keys, once you can get use too this and look at things through the locals eyes you won’t be able too truly enjoy the Keys and all the beauty they offer, so, relax, chill out, they will get to you. Email me with questions about this place, or anywhere else in the Keys, we have been to most a few times, I know this place very well and many other places in keys.
